Branson, Missouri – Beginning July 1, Developmental Connections, the Taney County Board for the Developmentally Disabled, transferred all case management services to a newly-formed non-profit, LinkAbility, Inc. This change will allow Developmental Connections to be in compliance with requirements set forth by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires that providers, like Developmental Connections, provide Conflict-Free Case Management for individuals on HCBS (Home and Community Based Service) waivers, meaning anyone having an interest in or employed by a provider of HCBS waiver services for an individual must not provide case management or develop their person-centered service plan. To comply, Developmental Connections has divested itself of case management services and continues to provide residential, day program, employment and other vital services to residents with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

This change will minimally affect the approximate 325 residents of Taney, Stone, and Ozarks counties currently served by Developmental Connections. “All case management services and personnel will remain the same,” said LinkAbility’s newly hired executive director, Cheryl Cassidy. “It is important that we keep the continuity of care and services through this transition.”
